Worship at E.D.G.E. Student Ministry is true, biblical worship. Although a few adult sponsors and the students involved in the bands put a lot of time and effort into the musical worship, we do not believe that worship stops when the music does.

In fact, our belief is the direct opposite. We believe true worship is a lifestyle of honoring God - giving everything, every day for the glory of God. In Romans 12:1, Paul says, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship." Our very lives and bodies are to be living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to our God, because of what He has done for us.

Our worship shouldn't be forced, on the contrary, it should be because of the blessings God has chosen to give us. God's mercy is extraordinary. Since God is perfect, He cannot tolerate imperfection - also known as sin. But in John 3:16, John writes, "For God so loved the world, He sent His only begotten Son, for whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." God loved us enough to send His Son, to die a creul, harsh death on a cross, for sinners like us. But not only did Jesus die, He rose to life on the third day, evident in the angel's proclimation shown in Matthew 28.

Paul continues in Romans 12:2, saying, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." The Christian lifestyle is offensive. Paul urges us to not conform the the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. This comes through prayer, study of God's Word, and fellowship with believers - all forms of worship. So a lifestyle of worship does not conform to this world, but is transformed by the renewing of your mind. The blessings don't stop there, however.

Notice in the second part of Romans 12:2. Paul says that after you are a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, and after you do not conform the world, but are transformed by the renewing of your mind that, "you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing, and perfect will." So not only does true worship lead to pleasing and honoring God, you will be able to discern God's will.

This is the worship of E.D.G.E. Student Ministries outlined by Paul. We give everything, every day for God's glory.
